Challenges and Constraints Facing the Agricultural Extension System in Egypt

Purpose: The research aimed to identify the important problems facing agricultural extension system in Egypt. Research Method: A simple random sample was selected from workers Fayoum and Beheira governorates (196 respondents) Data collection done October 2020 February 2021, using a questionnaire designed based on framework of modernization development systems developed by FAO. Findings: results indicated that organization Egypt suffers aging erosion (62.2% surveyed are over 46 years old), 58.7% Extension were not specialized extension. sufficiently satisfied with their work. As for work Egypt, foremost which problem centralization, lack authority delegation, absence institutional work, funding sources, weakness operational budget, academic programs before service, adequate training opportunities, clear integrative mechanism link scientific institutions, addition coordination colleges agriculture veterinary medicine, mass media, NGOs, private sector could be identified. Limitation: This study small two governorates. Therefore, policymakers should careful generalize findings broad context. Originality/ Value: dealt within FAO, provide officials vision most reform priorities.
